The all-new 2021 Yukon Denali is one of GMC’s most luxurious vehicles, but it comes with a new diesel engine option that’s sure to save you money.

If you opt for a Yukon Denali equipped with the new 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax® turbodiesel engine, you could save about $1,500 compared to the standard version with a 6.2-liter V8.

The Duramax® turbodiesel is also likely to cost you less at the pump. Fuel-efficiency specs for this engine haven’t been released yet, but they’ll be similar to the turbodiesel that’s already offered for the GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup truck. That engine gets an EPA-estimated 22 city mpg and 26 highway mpg.*

The Yukon’s Duramax® turbodiesel is also expected to deliver 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Like the V8, it comes paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

No matter which version of the 2021 Yukon Denali you choose, you’ll be getting a full-size SUV that handles smoothly and provides loads of space for passengers and cargo. It’s also loaded with premium materials, eye-catching design features, and advanced technologies.

The Yukon Denali is already available here at Rivard Buick GMC in Tampa, Florida. And if you’re interested in the diesel version, we’re expecting it to arrive at our dealership before the end of the year.

*Requires 3.0L Duramax® Turbo-Diesel engine. EPA est. 22 city/12 hwy mpg.

Expanded GMC Military Discount Covers 21 Million Personnel

Military AppreciationIn celebration of National Military Appreciation Month, GMC is expanding its military discount. Normally the discount is offered for veterans within one year of separation, active-duty personnel, reservists, retirees, and their spouses. Now, GMC will offer the discount to all 21 million US military veterans, regardless of separation date.

The GMC military discount varies somewhat by year, and model; however, when combined with other offers, veterans can save thousands of dollars. According to GMC, the military discount is also offered for spouses of personnel, which is a great way to support the families of all our men and women serving at home and abroad.

“These brave men and women have done so much for our country,” said Steve Hill, GM vice president of US sales and service. “Making sure all veterans can take advantage of our military discount to celebrate Military Appreciation Month is one small way we can express our gratitude.”

This discount is available for some of the most popular GMC models, including the Acadia and Yukon. Believe it or not, GMC began supporting the US military more than 100 years ago during the First World War by supplying troops with reliable trucks and parts. Today, it continues that legacy by giving back.

Yukon’s Conversation Mirror Reflects Good Parenting

Yukon InteriorWhen you’re behind the wheel, it’s easy to remember that you’re not just supposed to be monitoring the world outside your car—you’ve also got to monitor what’s going on inside it. That holds especially true if you’re a parent with kids in the backseat. Since a staggering 30% of all Yukon and Yukon XL drivers have children under the age of 16, the engineers though it might be prudent to add a conversation mirror to those models.

The Yukon’s conversation mirror is standard on all 2015 models. It works quite easily: the driver pushes once on the mirror compartment, which is housed in the overhead console’s sunglass holder, and the eyeglass holder can be accessed. Then the driver partially closes the compartment until the mirror latches into place, and voila! You have full view of the second and third seats, just in case your kids don’t believe the whole “eyes in the back of the head” thing.

The engineers of the Yukon and Yukon XL knew that integrating this feature into the models was important from personal experience. One product manager for the models, Kay Jarboe, commented, “As a mom, when it came time to design the next-generation Yukon and Yukon XL, I wanted to give our customers a better way of keeping tabs on their kids without forcing them to turn around and take their eyes off the road.”

Until now, conversation mirrors were often aftermarket accessories, meaning that they weren’t fully integrated into the vehicle’s design. The new Yukon models, however, are designed specifically to include these mirrors, meaning they’ve been optimized for a full field of rear vision.
