For the second year running, Buick was ranked highest in dealer service satisfaction in the J.D. Power U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI), among 19 other mass-market automotive brands. GMC came in fourth on the list.
The study measures service satisfaction among owners and lessees of one- to five-year-old vehicles in the United States by focusing on five service areas, including quality, initiation, advisor, facility, and vehicle pick-up (in order of importance).
Buick was ranked first with 836 points out of a possible 1,000 while GMC was ranked fourth with 807 points. Between them were MINI and Volkswagen. They ranked significantly higher than the mass-market brand average, and Buick even scored higher than three luxury brands.
“Superior reliability, quality and customer service is core to every model we bring to market,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “Leading the market in service satisfaction demonstrates that we and our dealers continue to deliver on that commitment.”
In other words, when you visit Rivard Buick GMC, you can expect luxury dealership levels of service!
When you’re behind the wheel, it’s easy to remember that you’re not just supposed to be monitoring the world outside your car—you’ve also got to monitor what’s going on inside it. That holds especially true if you’re a parent with kids in the backseat. Since a staggering 30% of all Yukon and Yukon XL drivers have children under the age of 16, the engineers though it might be prudent to add a conversation mirror to those models.
The Yukon’s conversation mirror is standard on all 2015 models. It works quite easily: the driver pushes once on the mirror compartment, which is housed in the overhead console’s sunglass holder, and the eyeglass holder can be accessed. Then the driver partially closes the compartment until the mirror latches into place, and voila! You have full view of the second and third seats, just in case your kids don’t believe the whole “eyes in the back of the head” thing.
The engineers of the Yukon and Yukon XL knew that integrating this feature into the models was important from personal experience. One product manager for the models, Kay Jarboe, commented, “As a mom, when it came time to design the next-generation Yukon and Yukon XL, I wanted to give our customers a better way of keeping tabs on their kids without forcing them to turn around and take their eyes off the road.”
Until now, conversation mirrors were often aftermarket accessories, meaning that they weren’t fully integrated into the vehicle’s design. The new Yukon models, however, are designed specifically to include these mirrors, meaning they’ve been optimized for a full field of rear vision.
Come test out the new Yukon and Yukon XL at your favorite Tampa GMC dealership today—and bring the kiddies along with you!
The brand new GMC campaign is turning its focus toward a new skill in accuracy: Precision. By definition, precision is the quality, condition, or fact of being exact. The Precision campaign will showcase the refined detail it takes to build GMC cars and trucks, while relating it to the skill and expertise of sports and well-made suits.
The campaign will be launched as a three part series. The first TV commercial, “Fastball,” will feature World Series Champion and San Francisco Giants pitcher, Jeremy Affeldt. The commercial correlates throwing a “Rembrandt” (painting the corner of the plate with a strike) and creating a beautiful car as taking the same kind of precision and craftsman ship.
The second commercial, “Swish,” features Harrison Barnes of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors making the perfect shot, nothing but net. And finally, the third commercial, “Sharp,” displays the skill it takes to create the perfect suit.
Each commercial plays upon the theme that precision is a pertinent skill when creating something that is, in fact, exact or precise.

The upcoming Buick Cascada is one of the most highly anticipated new models at the moment. In fact, it’s one of the most awaited Buick models in a long time. The Cascada is generating a lot of buzz about the direction in which Buick design is heading, so we thought we would take the time to reflect on some past Buick convertibles that have influenced the new Cascada.
The 2016 Cascada will be the first Buick convertible offered in 25 years. A strong design and powerful engine—something Buick is very familiar with—will be present in the Cascada. Below we have listed some of the most popular convertibles of Buick’s past.
1908 Buick Runabout
- Original Price: $900
- Engine: T-head in-line 4-cylinder, 40 horsepower
- Produced in Flint, MI, and needed around-the-clock shifts, seven days a week to keep up with demand
1936 Buick Century Series 60

- Only 717 Series 60 models were built
- Advertising materials promoted the car’s ability to go from 10 to 60 mph in less than 20 seconds
1962 Buick Special
- Engine: Fireball V6—First American car to use a V6 engine in volume production
- Manually operated top, could be lowered with one hand

1991 Buick Reatta Two-Door Convertible

It’s no secret that Buick has an extensive history creating award-winning convertibles, and the automaker hopes to continue that trend with the 2016 Cascada. The new Cascada will be available starting in early 2016!
