Because it’s such a hot tourist spot, there’s always plenty to do here in Tampa, Florida—especially during the holidays! If you’re looking for a curated list of events to do this holiday season, you’re in luck! Here are some of the Christmas events in Tampa we’re looking forward to the most.
If you’re a fan of the arts, you’ll definitely want to check out Art on the House, where you can find tons of dazzling art exhibits every Friday from 4pm to 8pm until December 29th. You might also like a trip to Stageworks Theater to see the Tony-winning musical Avenue Q, but make it quick—the last performance is on December 22nd!
For something more Christmas-themed, take a Christmas Lights Limo Tour around the city from now until December 29th. You can even customize the tour with particular destinations you’re interested in. Or, stroll through Christmas Town in Busch Gardens, which will be up through December 31st.
One unique event taking place on December 30th is Harry Potter and the Camber of Secrets in Concert, a showing of the film that will feature the Florida Orchestra playing the gorgeous soundtrack by John Williams along with the film. If you’re a fan of music, Harry Potter, or both, this shouldn’t be missed.

Clearwater Super Boat National Championship & Festival
It turns out that you can get your need for speed satiated with more than just a high-powered GMC vehicle. The Clearwater Super Boat National Championship will welcome thousands of visitors who will gather in Saint Petersburg, Florida for one of the biggest boat races in the state. Join the crowd from September 29th to October 1st, and take part in the parade and other live entertainment, too.
Suncoast Food & Wine Fest
Later this fall, head an hour south to Sarasota, Florida, where you can taste some of the finest local wines and foods while contributing to a worthy cause. The Suncoast Food & Wine Fest takes place on November 11, 2017 from 1-4pm. Tickets are $75 and proceeds go toward local charities in the Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival 2017
From October 6-14, 2017, our very own Tampa will host its 28th annual International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. Get your tickets now to join in on a week-long showcase of films that are made for, by, or about the LGBT community.

Tampa Bay Comic Con
Channel your inner nerd this year at the Tampa Bay Comic Con. This three day celebration of all things comics and games takes place July 28-30, 2017 at the Tampa Convention Center. Dress up in your best cosplay and be ready to interact with like-minded people who are ready to celebrate the many possibilities of the human imagination.
Bolts Brew Fest
On August 5, 2017, everyone’s favorite hockey team will host a brew-centric event you don’t want to miss. The Tampa Bay Lightning pairs with Creative Loafing to put on this event at AMALIE Arena. Tickets are $50 in advanced and include unlimited beer tastings as well as admission to the Tampa Bay Lightning preseason game.
Summer of Rum
Florida wouldn’t be the same without rum, so let this event be your excuse to celebrate the delicious, tropical drink. On Labor Day weekend, September 2nd, Floridians from all over will gather at Curtis Hixon Park to taste dozens of rums and rum drinks. Island-themed entertainment will keep you feeling happy and relaxed, so don’t miss this chance to sit back and enjoy a beverage.
