Each year, iSeeCars ranks auto brands according to their durability. After evaluating over 15.8 million cars sold in 2019 to see which ones lasted the longest, iSeeCars announced its top most long-lasting brands. GMC secured third place on this list.
Per iSeeCars, 1.4 percent of all GMC models reached 200,000 miles or more. Many of the brands on the list had a rating of 0.6 percent or lower. It’s not surprising that GMC made the list, since the majority of longest-lasting SUVs and pickups that ranked high for endurance were American vehicles, as iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly commented.
In particular, iSeeCars praised the GMC Sierra 1500, GMC Canyon, and GMC Yukon XL for their long shelf life. The Sierra 1500 and Canyon earned recognition in the light-duty pickup truck segment. The organization also lauded the Yukon XL as one of the SUVs most likely to surpass the 200,000-mile mark. Some Yukon XL models achieve 300,000 miles, which is an impressive feat for the category.
