Buick and Amazon have partnered up in a new ad campaign that highlights the Amazon Alexa feature now available in four different Buick vehicles. When drivers get behind the wheel of a model equipped with Amazon Alexa, they can take advantage of the virtual assistant’s many benefits through the built-in infotainment system. This includes getting weather and traffic updates, turning on music, and even ordering a Prime package to be delivered right to eligible vehicles.
The extensive promotional campaign began in August, with ads running on a number of different platforms. In addition to the commercials, the campaign advertises another unique, collaborative effort. Buick now has its own special “utterance” that can be used to make a request of Amazon Alexa. Users can now say, “Alexa, tell me about Buick SUVs,” and receive information on the current lineup. This custom utterance is the first in the industry.
Although the advertisements obviously play up the Amazon Alexa feature available in select Buick models, they’re also meant to speak to the brand overall. Buick is a well-established nameplate, but the automaker has so much more to offer than many people seem to know. According to a spokesperson from the company, the spots are meant to provide a fresh angle of the Buick brand, showing that it’s a lineup ready for fun and action.
If you want to learn more about Amazon Alexa functionality within Buick vehicles, don’t hesitate to give us a call at Rivard Buick GMC.

For the past few months, Buick lovers have only been able to fawn over the all-new crossover’s glossy exterior photos while awaiting more details.
The wait for more information is officially over thanks to a Chinese General Motors affiliate that recently released a number of gorgeous images depicting the upcoming Envision’s interior. Though the photos from SAIC depict how the Chinese variant of the restyled 2021 Envision will look, it’s safe to assume that the American version of the SUV will have a relatively similar design story.
Based on the pictures released by SAIC, the 2021 Envision’s cabin is extremely bright and airy thanks to wide windshields, passenger windows, and a magnificent dual-panel moonroof that bathes the interior in natural light. Other prominent features include a 10-inch touchscreen console seamlessly integrated into the dash, over 20 storage spaces, and piano lacquer accents. The luxurious Avenir trim comes with sophisticated quilted seats and a classy high-contrast black and cream colorway.

Last year, automakers spent nearly $5 billion on television ads and amassed over 416 billion impressions, making the industry the biggest one for both spend and impressions across all TV advertising. But the big winner was Buick, who had the most-viewed car commercial of 2019.
The spot, dubbed “Mistaken Identity,” generated 5.7 million TV ad impressions with an estimated spend of $31.7 million.
“Mistaken Identity” features virtually every model in Buick’s lineup, including the popular Enclave, LaCrosse, Regal GS, and Encore Preferred. It highlights the versatility of the lineup, from its utility to its premium style.
More than anything, the ad puts the exciting, new design of modern Buick vehicles in the spotlight — and clearly, this resonated well with audiences. Getting the most-viewed car commercial of 2019, or any year, is no small feat.
It may seem like a lot that Buick spent $31.7 million to get those 5.7 million TV ad impressions, but the automaker wasn’t even the biggest spender in 2019 when it came to advertising. The most expensive car commercial of 2019 cost $60.4 million. That Buick’s spot generated so many impressions with so much less is further evidence of the strength of the ad.

For the first time in nearly 20 years, General Motors is adding a three-cylinder engine to its American lineup. This new engine will find its home in the all-new 2020 Buick Encore GX and will be available in either 1.2- or 1.3-liter displacements. Both options will be turbocharged.
With their turbochargers, these engines will deliver more than enough power for the Encore GX. Although GM hasn’t officially released output numbers, we can look at other GM three-cylinder engines available globally. In the Korean version of the Malibu, its 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine produces 156 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. If the new engine gets a similar rating, it will be on par with larger, four-cylinder engines.
The last time General Motors offered a three-cylinder engine was for the now-defunct Geo Metro in 2000. That engine only produced 55 horsepower, proving how far GM’s technology and engineering have come in the last two decades.
Along with its new engine, the Buick Encore GX will offer ample interior space, including 25.3 cubic feet of cargo room, making it significantly larger than the standard Encore. The Encore GX will also come standard with a variety of advanced safety features, including automatic emergency braking.
We can’t wait to see you here at Rivard Buick GMC when the new Encore GX finally hits roads in 2020.
Thanks to the successful launch of several new luxury vehicles, Buick sales topped 1.4 million vehicles in 2017, making it the second year in a row the brand has performed this well. So far in 2018, the brand’s success shows no signs of slowing down.
2017 was a huge year for the Buick brand, with the successful launch of many new luxury vehicles. These included the Enclave and Enclave Avenir, the three Regal models (Sportback, TourX, and GS), the GL6, Velite 5, Excellle GX, and LaCrosse Avenir. Buick’s heavy investment in new luxury cars paid off, seeing a 15.1% growth in Canada and an impressive 1.6% growth here in the United States.
One of the biggest developments for Buick as 2018 gets underway is the expansion of the top-of-the-line Avenir sub-brand. The highest expression of Buick luxury, the Avenir trim already accounts for more than 30% of all Enclave sales. The introduction of a new LaCrosse Avenir model likewise promises to become a quick favorite amongst luxury car drivers.
Buick has a long-standing reputation for its luxury vehicles, from introducing the first-ever concept car in 1938 to its dedication to innovation in the 21st century. Stop by Rivard Buick GMC to check out the latest Buick models, including the new Avenir models.
The 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir will be the second vehicle in the Buick lineup to offer the Avenir trim, after the Enclave, which Buick announced would carry the Avenir trim earlier this year. Originally described as a new luxury sub-brand for Buick, the Avenir name has transformed into a luxury trim that will slowly be rolled out across the Buick lineup.
The LaCrosse Avenir has the same shape and largely the same styling as lower LaCrosse trim levels, but its Avenir-exclusive upper and lower front grilles set it apart, as well as standard 19-inch wheels or available 20-inch wheels and Avenir badging.
Inside, the Avenir offers brown or black leather seating, standard Navigation, a panoramic moonroof, and more. All-wheel drive is available, as are driver assist features, and variable dampers for a softer ride.
These features are in addition to all the features that come on lower trims of the LaCrosse, like convenient wireless charging, heated front seats, Quiet Tuning™, and more.
The 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir will be available early next year. Pricing has not yet been announced. To hear more about the LaCrosse Avenir or the Enclave Avenir when they arrive, give us a call today at Rivard Buick GMC.
The 2017 Buick LaCrosse went through a complete redesign before making its debut late last year. With its new look and style, the LaCrosse is more impressive than ever—so impressive, in fact, that it was named to Wards 10 Best Interiors list for 2017.
The judges from WardsAuto were impressed with the LaCrosse’s spacious cabin, excellent technology for connectivity and safety, comfort, and a sophisticated design that can set a new standard for the Buick brand.
One judge wrote, “There’s a stylish element to this Buick I’ve never seen before in my lifetime.”
Inside, passengers will find plenty of room to stretch out with abundant leg, shoulder, and hip room both in the front and back. Technology-wise, the LaCrosse’s frameless 8-inch IntelliLink screen blends in nicely with the clean lines that flow across the dashboard.
In addition, the technology interface includes features modern buyers are looking for including OnStar with 4G LTE Wi-Fi capabilities and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all of which will make in-car connectivity seamless and intuitive. In addition, numerous advanced safety technology features are available.
When you think about the Buick brand, you might think about models like compact Encore crossover, sophisticated Cascada convertible, or athletic Regal sedan. Now, the 2018 Buick Regal TourX is bringing adventure to the Buick lineup with a purpose-built design.
The Regal TourX combines the best features of both worlds with the drivability of a car and capabilities of an SUV. It starts with the standard Regal sedan, but adds a versatile hatchback opening, rides higher off the ground, comes with standard roof rails, standard intelligent all-wheel drive, and an extra dose of rugged style.
In true versatile form, the Regal TourX offers up to 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front seats. This is more than some of the popular competition, including the Subaru Outback, Audi A4 Allroad, and Volvo V60 Cross Country.
With the standard all-wheel drive and active twin-clutch, the Regal TourX will deliver superior vehicle control in a variety of driving conditions. Powering the wheels is a 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2018 Buick Regal TourX will be coming to Rivard Buick GMC late this year. What adventures would you like to take behind the wheel of this capable, sophisticated machine?
