If you are planning to be in Tampa around Thanksgiving, there will be plenty of things to do, besides spend the day with your family. Here are some excellent family-friendly events you should consider going to.
- Busch Gardens Christmastown. Opening the day after Thanksgiving (November 25th), visitors can experience a winter wonderland right here in Florida. You can meet Rudolph and Santa and experience the joy of more than two million twinkling lights.
- Arabian Horse Thanksgiving Show. If you’re a horse lover, plan on catching this spectacular horse show that features the beautiful Arabian breed. There will be exhibitors from all across the country. It will run November 24th through the 26th at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
- Turkey Trot. If you want to burn off some Thanksgiving calories before they even get in your belly, sign up to run in the Tamp Bay Turkey Trot. There are numerous races to choose from starting as early as 7am.
- ThanksVegan Dinner. For those of us who prefer to eat animals, or if you just want to experience something new, attend the 11th annual Tampa ThanksVegan Dinner on November 24th at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa at 1:30pm.
