When you think about the Buick brand, you might think about models like compact Encore crossover, sophisticated Cascada convertible, or athletic Regal sedan. Now, the 2018 Buick Regal TourX is bringing adventure to the Buick lineup with a purpose-built design.
The Regal TourX combines the best features of both worlds with the drivability of a car and capabilities of an SUV. It starts with the standard Regal sedan, but adds a versatile hatchback opening, rides higher off the ground, comes with standard roof rails, standard intelligent all-wheel drive, and an extra dose of rugged style.
In true versatile form, the Regal TourX offers up to 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front seats. This is more than some of the popular competition, including the Subaru Outback, Audi A4 Allroad, and Volvo V60 Cross Country.
With the standard all-wheel drive and active twin-clutch, the Regal TourX will deliver superior vehicle control in a variety of driving conditions. Powering the wheels is a 250-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2018 Buick Regal TourX will be coming to Rivard Buick GMC late this year. What adventures would you like to take behind the wheel of this capable, sophisticated machine?
The 2016 Airport Service Quality Awards saw Tampa International Airport finish in a tie for second with El Paso and Ottawa.
Safety and customer service are two driving factors when it comes to flying from an airport. Two Florida airports ranked among the best in North America, including one in our own backyard. While Jacksonville International Airport tied for first place, Tampa International Airport tied for second.
More than 600,000 travelers from around the world were surveyed to determine the top airports in North America. Respondents rated airports based on indicators such as accessibility, restaurants, security, and restrooms.
The 2016 Airport Service Quality Awards saw Tampa International Airport tied for second with El Paso and Ottawa. Tampa International Airport also ranked as the best facility to serve between 15 million to 25 million passengers per year.
The Airports Council International was founded in 1991 in an effort to encourage cooperation among airports. The Airport Service Quality Awards is now in its 10th year. This is the second year in a row that Tampa International Airport has tied for second place.

Finding the perfect mid-size SUV that’s safe enough for your family isn’t easy, but the new GMC Acadia offers plenty of new technologies to close the gap. The luxury mid-size SUV segment is incredibly competitive, especially when it comes to safety, so here’s a brief look at the innovative safety technologies available in the 2017 GMC Acadia.
Keeping track of your teenager can be hard, especially once they get their license and get behind the wheel. Fortunately, GMC’s Teen Driver mode enables parents to keep track of their teen and set limitations. Parents can check out their child’s driving habits via the Report Card feature and help encourage safe driving habits.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert
A standard Rear Vision Camera is helpful, but it can’t prevent every accident. Available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert makes use of radar sensors to detect cross traffic when reversing. The innovative technology will alert the driver if there’s a problem.
Side Blind Zone Alert
Vehicles in your blind spot can be a problem and a major safety hazard, especially if they linger there. Fortunately, available Side Blind Zone Alert will alert drivers to a vehicle in their blind spot as soon as the turn signal is activated.
Get behind the wheel of the new GMC Acadia here at Rivard Buick GMC today!
You’ve heard of spring cleaning your house, but it’s also a good idea to spring clean your car. Here are some expert tips for making your ride look and feel brand-new from the inside out.
Take Your Time With a Thorough Wash: Don’t just head to the local car wash this time. Find a warm day to bring out the soapy water bucket (make sure you use something specially-formulated for auto care and not household dish soap) and get scrubbing. Make sure to check the undercarriage for winter gunk like road salt.
Don’t Underestimate a Coat of Wax: Most people wash their car and forget the most important step – a protective layer of wax coating. Make your car shine like new, and prevent the paint from stripping off or fading.
Vacuum and Scrub the Interior: Toss out the trash, bring in everything you need out of the trunk, and dedicate some time to getting all the dirt, debris, and stains out of the interior.
Check Your Tires: Make sure your tires are properly inflated, and check to make sure that they’re not too worn. Insufficient tread depth is illegal and could put your life in danger.
Replace Wiper Blades: The snowy and soggy winter months can do a number on your windshield wipers, so make sure to treat your car to a brand new set.
When you spring clean your car, you’ll feel way better and find yourself in a calmer and more relaxed state of mind. It’s like having a clean slate – which is what the beginning of spring is all about.
The Terrain was added to GMC’s lineup 8 years ago, but up until this point, it had never undergone any significant redesign. Following the introduction of the next-generation Acadia, however, the Terrain underwent a similar transformation. The redesigned GMC Terrain is now lighter, smaller – and more powerful than ever. Now with a range of three different turbo engines, including a turbo-diesel option, the Terrain is set to wow buyers with its new look and capabilities.
The more sculpted and sleek exterior design reflects the new styling cues in other members of the brand’s vehicle lineup and marks the beginning of GMC’s next era of design philosophy. But those new, contemporary looks aren’t limited to the outside. With more luxurious materials used in making the interior, as well as more innovative and versatile seating, the GMC Terrain was designed to offer both comfort and capability from the inside out.
Of course, the fun part of the redesigned GMC Terrain lies under the hood. Two gasoline engines will be offered – a 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter option – as well as 1.6-liter turbo-diesel option. These engines will be paired with a new nine-speed automatic gearbox and are said to significantly boost fuel economy in the new Terrain. Specific numbers aren’t yet available regarding fuel ratings and horsepower, but that information will become available when the new Terrain’s launch draws near.
GMC and Chevrolet have both announced that they will expand their alternative fuel fleet options through partnership with Power Solutions International (PSI), a company that manufactures and distributes ecofriendly engines and power systems for the industrial and on-road sectors.
The partnership will allow GMC and Chevy to introduce heavy-duty pickups and full-size vans with compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) engines in early 2017. The announcement came shortly after the two automakers chose PSI as their preferred upfitter for CNG- and LPG-capable trucks.
GM will supply GMC and Chevy vehicles to PSI, who will fit the vehicles with the LPG or CNG fuel system and then ship the finished trucks and vans directly to dealerships. GM has been expanding its green lineup for years through vehicles like the Chevy Volt and Bolt EV as well as alternative fuel options. Now, expanding the Chevy and GMC fleet options lets them reduce fuel consumption and costs while providing a range of choices for fleet managers, who have different needs.
The US Department of Transportation also announced in December that it will designate a national network of alternative fuel corridors across 55 routes in 35 states. The network will be almost 85,000 miles long and will continue to expand as electric, hydrogen, and other fuel sources are popularized.
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Valtteri Filppula signed autographs at the AMALIE Arena in late December in exchange for toy donations, which were donated to Metropolitan Ministries to give toys to children in need.
Each fan who brought a new, unwrapped toy to the arena was able to take a picture with Filppula or get his autograph. Metropolitan Ministries runs an annual toy drive and had an “urgent need” in December, and Filppula’s help garnered a huge swell of extra support right before Christmas.
Metropolitan Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit in the Tampa area that has served poor and homeless Tampa Bay families since 1972. The organization provides resources including food, housing, and childcare, as well as offering life skills classes and other resources, helping hundreds of people every day.
In 2013 the Ministries gave toys to more than 19,000 children and provided assistance to 22,000 families. They also host food drives, providing meals to more than 1.5 million people, and they’ll even do the shopping for you if you donate a gift card.
Filppula, a Finnish player for Tampa Bay’s hockey team, joined the Lightning in 2013, before which he played for the Detroit Red Wings for eight years and helped the team win a Stanley Cup in 2008. This season Filppula has totaled 24 points, including 6 goals and 18 assists, across 34 games.
