It’s a little early to believe any rumors or leaks about the 2018 GMC Terrain but spy shots are a whole different store. The next-generation GMC Terrain was caught testing on roadways and from the looks of it, this is a fully revamped compact SUV. While what we can see from the photos is limited to appearance, it’s certainly telling.
First, expect a sleeker Terrain for the 2018 model year. Boasting a less-upright shape with a raked windshield, the next-gen model will ride with a lower roofline. The grille itself will evolve to look more like the redesigned GMC Acadia.
Likely to shrink when it goes on sale in 2017, the 2018 GMC Terrain will ride on the same platform at the Chevrolet Cruze. That could mean a smoother ride overall without sacrificing the Terrain’s larger engine and power.
Given the current Terrain’s roominess and power, only time will tell if the next-generation model will maintain that standard. The 2016 Terrain boasts two engines to choose from and offers some of the best fuel economy ratings in its class.
With the 2018 model year approaching rapidly, only time will tell what will happen when the Terrain officially hits roadways.
Here at Rivard Buick GMC, we can’t wait for the officially unveiling for the 2018 GMC Terrain!
